Our Police Chief is on administrative leave due to an allegation of serious misconduct. I expect this matter to eventually be resolved with a separation agreement that among other things restricts his ability to voluntarily disclose the nature of the allegation. The City may seek this to cover up misjudgment by the City Manager regarding the credibility and/or seriousness of the allegation. Question: Does the Brown Act require that the final approval of a separation agreement be done in open session?
